BLUF: Dr. Chiu is a brilliant surgeon. If you want natural-looking results, he is your doctor! When I was considering rhinoplasty seriously a couple of years ago it took me a while to find a surgeon I could trust and had the right credentials. I went to three surgeons, including Dr. Chiu, and found him to be the best fit. Dr. Chiu is incredibly realistic when it comes to bringing harmony to the face and took the time to explain what would work the best not only aesthetically but also for my overall health. For rhinoplasty, you want to look good but still be able to breathe normally. Rhinoplasty is his speciality and after having this procedure done by Dr. Chiu I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking this procedure. He considered my total facial structure in his renderings to give me an idea what my new nose would look like. Our goal was to take the focus away from my nose; I no longer wanted that feature to be where everyone’s eyes were drawn. Dr. Chiu does his surgeries at Upper St. Clair hospital and only has the best surgical staff working with him. I was well taken care of and was in surgery for approximately four hours. Following surgery, I was released to go home to recover. I was expecting some discomfort the first night; however, my discomfort was not from any pain but from having to sleep upright. I prescribed some pain medication but I never needed it. I suffered from ZERO bruising! Most post-op photos show significant bruising from rhinoplasty, but I did not have a single one. I was swollen, puffy, and a tad stiff for a while following the procedure but experiencing no pain. I was able to return to work less than 7 days following the procedure and very few people were able to tell I had something done due to lack of bruising. It took about one year for the results of the surgery to settle in, and Dr. Chiu did emphasize that would indeed be the case. It has been 13 months at the time of this post, and I couldn’t be happier with my new nose! It fits the rest of my face, I have full functionality (no issues breathing), and you cannot see the small incision at all. Dr. Chiu is incredibly thorough and highly skilled. What I respect most about him and his practice, though, is that he gives you realistic expectations and explains the why/how to his methods. If you are seeking natural and harmonizing results for your looks, Dr. Chiu should absolutely be at the top of your list! I also want to point out that Sara is wonderful! She makes sure you have every piece of information you could possibly need from scheduling, financing, and answers all questions promptly. Dr. Chiu is AWESOME! He has been making me feel more youthful for years. Filers, Botox and fraxel treatments. When they weren’t enough and I was aging faster than I’d like, Dr. Chiu has given me my youthful appearance, w/a face lift. All of my girlfriends are so envious. I can’t wait till we are allowed to remove our masks so I can show off my new appearance. I couldn’t say enough good about Dr Chiu and his wife Sara, who works the reception. When I decided to finally go through with my rhinoplasty, I asked everybody for the best surgeon. I even asked other doctors and plastics surgeons. They all recommended Dr. Chiu. When I went to my consult, he gave me realistic expectations for the result and post-op recovery. However, he completely exceeded all of my expectations. My nose is exactly how I wanted it to look and my recovery was painless! On top of that, my breathing has improved. I had zero pain and little to no bruising or swelling. I was amazed at how good I felt. I have never seen a recovery like my own or his other patients. I was so convinced that for weeks after surgery I was going to have huge black eyes with massive amounts of swelling, and it just never happened! I highly recommend Dr. Chiu as a trusted facial plastic surgeon for your best result! More
At age 65 I had enough of the droopy upper eyelids! The right was even worse then the left. Consulted my local doctors and was told that I was a good candidate for blepharoplasty. I was warned by my personal physician of the recovery and how I would look right after the procedure with bruising, swelling, etc... Dr. Chiu was recommended as one of the best for the LEAST amount of pain, etc... He is over a 3 hour drive from where I live and it is well worth it. I was given several instructions of what to eat and do/don't do before and after the procedure. I followed his instructions as written and to everyone's surprise I had NO pain, no bruising, and very little swelling. My recovery was very fast and I was out in the public the day after without any concern as to how I looked with a couple of small bandages. My own physician was shocked as to how great I already looked right after surgery! I have had so many compliments on how great I look now...all thanks to Dr. Robert Chiu! I would recommend Dr. Chiu to everyone! More

I rate Dr Chiu the best of the best! I had Blepharoplasty on my upper lids. My eyes are beautiful noone would know , I don't have a visible scar to be seen. Since then I go regulary to have filler and botox around my lips, frown lines etc. It always looks natural not overdone. Dr. Chiu is very compassionate and takes great pride in his art! He is a perfectionist ! Also Sara is a joy to talk to and very organized, she assits Dr. Chiu in his practice. Highly recommended !!!! More

Eyelids Done 7 Years Ago and Still Looking Really Good. - I have been treating with Dr. Chiu since 2011. All of my appointments and treatments have been great. Many of my friends and family have come to open houses at his office, and several have been or are being treated by Dr. Chiu. Sara is wonderful as well. Dr. Chiu is very conservative with any treatment or surgery. From going to his many open houses over the years, I have met with lots of his patients. Everyone is very happy and looks fresh, not like these movie stars. He will not overdo anything. Dr. Chiu and Sara give clear and concise instructions prior to surgery and/or treatments. Following these instructions is important to achieve the best outcome possible. More
I had a facelift recently with Dr Chiu. My sisters one had eyelid lift the other one also had a facelift. non of us had any bruising during our recovery. The recovery was short and painless and I feel so much more confident about myself now. Thanks Dr Chiu! More
I had a partial facelift by Dr. Chiu last year and am delighted with the results. My drooping eyelids made me look older and I was starting to get wrinkles at the corners of my mouth and chin. I now have youthful looking eyes and no lines on my lower face. The lower face lift smoothed the entire area and slimmed my face, taking years off my appearance. I now get fillers and botox which contributes to the improvement. I think Dr. Chiu's fees are very reasonable compared to other areas. I was especially impressed by the comments of the nurses at the hospital who told me that if they could do what I was doing Dr. Chiu would be their choice out of the many plastic surgeons who operate there because of his thoroughness and time spent on each patient. I don't think there could be a higher compliment than that! More
I had my eyelid lift, facelift & liposuction of my neck done many years ago by Dr Chiu. Best decision I ever made. It's been almost 10 years and I still look great. I still see Dr Chiu couple of times/yr for Botox. I wouldn't trust anyone else w/my face. More
Dr. Chiu is an eminently qualified Facial plastic surgeon. I wouldn't trust my face to just any plastic surgeon, especially one who didn't have further specialized credentials, no matter how much "cheaper" the procedures. I had facelift, brow and eyelid surgery with very little bruising, and i have had Botox and lip injections As well, and I love the way I look. I feel so much happier with my appearance. More
An absolute EXPERT at what he does! Had neck lift and upper eyelid lift. Only one complaint ... and this may apply to other Doctors, as well: Having patient wear full make-up AFTER the procedure/s for photographing purposes. I would much rather have looked at REAL before and after photos of others who had had similiar surgeries, in order to have a REAL perspective on what to expect at certain time intervals during recovery. Personally, I did want to pile on make-up during my own healing time for the sole purpose of looking better in the photos. I truly believe that patients would greatly appreciate seeing the real process of healing (looking at other's photos without the make-up)and could better understand the time it takes to get from the point of "just had the surgery" ... to ... X amount of weeks AFTER the surgery. Let's face it, in the real world, we don't wake up in full make-up, nor do we feel that comfortable piling it on to skin that is still in the process of healing. Dr Chiu is the best! I have had consultations with several other doctors in the area. I decided to have my eyes done by him. I am so thankful that I found this doctor. I have been getting so many compliments everywhere I go and I have never felt so good about myself. More
